Each year, Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the event that mobile phone enthusiasts wait for with anticipation and excitement. It’s the biggest mobile tradeshow of the year.
MWC 2019 officially kicked off in Barcelona yesterday (February 25th), and will be ongoing until February 28th.
What are we likely to see at this year’s MWC? Well, we know that the foldable Huawei Mate X has been planned for the show, as well as a 5G prototype from OnePlus, and of course, the arrival of LG’s Flagship phone – G8. Microsoft will also be unveiling HoloLens 2. That’s a lot to take in.
In a time where folding phones are coming into their own light (see below), Sony is leading its innovation towards 21:9 ratio screens, which they feel will, improve the movie watching experience. What this will look like in our day-to-day lives is yet to be determined, however. The range will include a flagship, plus a few other 21:9 ratio phones, at this year’s MWC.
Huawei have a lot going on this year with the P30 and Mate 30 ranges, as well as something a little different – the Mate X, Huawei’s interesting flagship, which comes with 5G connectivity, all wrapped up in a folding design.
Take the leading mixed reality headset and add the much-needed improvements on comfort and improved optics, which cleverly track where your eyes are looking. This will ensure a more reactive and immersive AR experience for the user.
Surly not the first time you’ve heard about the extremely innovative Nokia 9 PureView, which has a history and market changing, five lens camera arrangement. This is the phone all phone enthusiast have been waiting to see in the flesh.
