IFA 2012 is right around the corner! The event will kick off on August 31 and close on September 5.
Traditionally following CES and MWC we can expect the focus will be on key digital lifestyle products such as smart TVs, tablets and smartphones. The displays will also include IT-enabled household products such as high-end coffee machines.
However what makes IFA exciting this year are the pre-show press-only events held by manufacturers few days before the exhibition opens to the public.
On Wednesday, August 29 Panasonic is expected to unveil a new Android smartphone. The smartphone will be walking in the footsteps of the Eluga and the Eluga Power, which were announced at this year’s MWC back in February.
Same day midday Sony plans to unveil the Xperia S refresh – the recently caught in the wild Sony Xperia SL (LT26ii), the Xperia LT29i Hayabusa and finally, the LT30i ‘Mint’ that will go by the name of Xperia T. This will definitely be one of the most interesting IFA’s press conferences.
Furthermore in the evening another smartphone giant – Samsung plans to unveil the successor of Galaxy Note, the Galaxy Note 2!. The 5.5-inch phoneblet is one of the most anticipated Android devices to come out in the second half of the year.
Next day, Thursday, August 30 also looks very exciting. Samsung is holding a second press conference that presumably is going to show off products from the company’s home appliances divisions.
In the afternoon Lenovo will Start off with the IdeaTab A2105 phoneblet. The company is also expected to showcase two new tablets – the 7-inch IdeaTab A2107 and the 9-inch IdeaTab A2109.
The day will conclude with LG taking over the evening. The company that has been really quiet about its upcoming IFA 2012 press conference is likely to showcase all of its 2012 smartphones, rather than unveil new ones. Let’s remember LG has already launched its flagship Android smartphone, the 4X HD. However we can surely expect to see new stuff in the TV/home appliance department.
Last but not least we would like to gently remind you that Frequency teamed up with Case-Mate and will exhibit at the event. Come and have a chat with us! We will be based in the iZone, stand 116.
